Now that Samsung has experimented with Galaxy Z Flip’s screen that folds down to become compact, and it was (more or less) a success. Thanks to a leak, we’ve learned that the Korean giant is keeping its phablet-to-tablet form factor from its original Galaxy Fold going with the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2.

The leak comes from the courtesy of an XDA Developers member, Max Weinbach. As per his tweet, the Galaxy Fold 2 will debut with a redesigned S-pen (similar to the kind Samsung ships with its Galaxy Note series) and possibly an under-display primary camera.

After the Samsung Galaxy Fold debacle and the success of the Galaxy Z Flip, Fold 2 has a lot to prove and big shoes to fill. And from the looks of it, Samsung is taking a fresh and more innovative approach to ensure that. It’s not difficult to see how the introduction of a stylus with Fold 2’s tablet-like form factor will enhance user experience and boost functionality.

The tweet doesn’t confirm the under-display main camera, but its either that or a punch-hole. At any rate, you can say goodbye to the ugly camera notch that sat in the top-left corner of the original Fold.

Max Weinbach has an excellent track record for Samsung-related leaks, so you’d likely see these details in the finalized product. He also points at an Infinity-V display mounted on the front panel out front.

Further, the phone will borrow its camera setup from Galaxy S20+, which means a quad-camera structure, featuring a 12-megapixel primary lens, a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor, a 12-megapixel ultrawide angle shooter and finally a 3D Time-of-Flight camera.

Samsung is also ditching the popular ‘glass slab’ look, and going for an old-school ceramic and stainless steel build that will be available in Blue, Silver, Gold, Pink, Black hues. The Galaxy Fold 2 is shaping up to be an exciting device at an ultra-premium Samsung price, but will it suffer the same fate as the Galaxy Fold? Let us know what you think.
